For a few years after the end of the sensational sixties, the live music scene sunk into a state of hibernation. Discos took over everywhere until punk and new wave injected new life into the town. Once again teenagers were forming groups and making a racket!!
John was alive to this and started promoting, resulting in some great concerts at the Town Hall – UB40, U2 and Simple Minds were just some of the groups brought into Wyre Forest.
John is interested in hearing from anyone who has photos or a story to tell about the groups and the local music scene from this period.
