1963 - 1967

From 1963 live music is everywhere. All the top groups of the day visited Kidderminster Town Hall including The Rolling Stones, The Who and The Yardbirds.
Rock legend Robert Plant is just starting out on his fantastic musical career with The Crawlin’Kingsnakes and then with The Band of Joy, whilst Andy Silvester formed Chicken Shack with Stan Webb, seen here at Frank Freemans with Dave Bidwell on drums.

Sadly during this period the destruction of Kidderminster town centre began and many buildings like the Lion Hotel in High Street were demolished to make way for new buildings and the construction of the inner ring road started.
